Isaiah 64-66

Todays passage: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+64-66&version=NIV

The end of Isaiah is such a beautiful picture of hope for those who are faithful. The world we live in now is a fallen world and we often find trouble in this world. But in Isaiah we get a glimpse of another world – a new heaven and a new earth. A world with no suffering, no death, no weeping, no condemnation, no evil. Instead there will be harmony, happiness, rejoicing and worship. Praise the Lord, that we are made righteous in the blood of Christ and that we will soon be welcomed to the home of righteousness (2 Peter 2:13).

Take some time to meditate on that hope. Take some time to praise God for who He is what He does for you.

  1. But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit,And who trembles at My word.

What a verse in the last chapter. God looks or is open to those who humble themselves before Him. This is exactly what Jesus said in the sermon on the Mount.

    Matt 5:3
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Hey believers in Christ, we are the ones who have humbled ourselves before God for help! We have given up on our own prideful ways to save ourselves and have believed God's Word.

Thus we need to believe God's Word here. Don't overlook what the Lord is saying. He promises to look upon, to help, to be there, to intervene in our times of need those who tremble at His Word.

Have faith in God's Word, saints of God, God will help those who call upon His Name. Don't be in unbelief but expect God to honor His Word.

  2. I reread these verses and something really jumped out. The Bible isn't so much a story about man's sinfulness but rather about a holy God who desires to have fellowship with mankind. God desires to have communion with sinful man. The message is clear. Our righteousness is like filthy rags. We have no ability to change ourselves so God has made the way. God is intervening to make us holy in His sight.

We see it in these chapters. Man is sinful and the judgment has fallen yet God is loving and has made a way of escape through His mercy.

Once we embrace God's way the heart of God is made manifest in our life experiences. Look at the heart of God toward His people.

24 Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.

We indeed serve a great and mighty God. A God who can use anyone who comes to Him in a spirit of humbleness and meekness.
